Dear WTK Community,
On December 5, BitMart exchange suffered a hack: the person responsible was able to withdraw almost $200 million of tokens from the exchange to their personal account.
It was our immediate decision to do anything and everything possible to make sure that all WTK holders would not lose a single WTK asset. We knew this would be a very challenging outcome to achieve in the blockchain world and have worked tirelessly to make this a reality.
Today, we are happy to confirm that we have reissued the assets of those impacted. The steps that we took to solve this challenge include:
- Deployed a new smart contract: with the same supply, utility and fundamentals as the previous one.
- Airdropped 1:1 WTK to all WTK holders with positive balances.
FAQ
For Holders of WTK on Exchanges
No action is required. We have worked with both of the exchanges to ensure the swap happens behind the scenes. Please take note of your wallet address when making future deposits, as some users may receive new addresses.
When making withdrawals from an exchange to external wallet, you may continue to use your previous ERC-20 external wallet address. You will need to add the new contract address to your wallet. Select the import token option, then the custom token tab.

If you previously held WTK and had a positive balance, then you will see the same balance under the new WTK token. If you still cannot see the tokens, please contact support via our website and provide your wallet number.
We encourage users to hide their old WTK tokens to avoid any future confusion when making transfers.
For Holders of WTK on Hard Wallets (e.g. Ledger)
You will need to connect your wallet to a computer with an internet connection. If your wallet does not automatically display the new WTK tokens, you will need to add the new token’s contract address to your wallet’s custom tokens.

For Holders of WTK on Exchanges
We have received confirmation from both exchanges that they will execute the token swap on our behalf. We have airdropped the new WTK to the exchanges to cover all of their token holders. Please contact the exchange if you have any further enquiries.
